The Librarians at Cornerstone have been very excited to see everyone back in school again over the last few weeks; the libraries have been a hive of (bubbled) activity and the books have been flying off the shelves. We have even got lots of new books to get stuck into!

These new books include the hilarious ‘Kid Normal’ series by Greg James & Chris Salcedo, about a boy who goes to a top-secret superhero school – except he doesn’t have any special powers at all, he is totally normal! But Murph learns, with the help of his friends, that not all heroes wear capes (or have super-powers).

We also now have copies of Tom Fletcher’s latest book, ‘The Danger Gang’, which follows a boy called Franky as he moves house and tells his best friend all about his new group of friends and all the strange goings-on in his new town, Freaky.

Remember the entertaining authors Adam & Charlotte Guillain who we met in the run-up to World Book Day? Well we now have one of their ‘George’s Amazing Adventures’ picture books in the libraries: ‘Treats for a T-Rex’!

As well as all the fantastic new books, we also have lots of beloved favourites in our libraries. Here are some books which children in The Trust recommend:

Evie in Year 3 at Westclyst really likes ‘The Boy at the Back of the Class’ by Onjali Q Rauf: “I would recommend this book because it is about a refugee who starts a new school. It is a little bit sad but as the story goes on it gets happier”.

Meanwhile, Merryn and Victoria in Year 4 at Broadclyst recommend the Nevermoor Series by Jessica Townsend: “Read these and you will feel like you're in this world! You can defeat anything that comes your way."

“I would recommend any of the Tom Gates books because they are an easy, fun read”, writes Logan in Year 5 at Yeo Valley about the very popular series by Liz Pichon, “I would recommend the books to anyone who likes amusing, fiction books”.

So, as you can see, we have plenty of fantastic books, both old and new, for you to read from our libraries! We can’t wait to hear which ones you love.
