Raising awareness for the ever-growing environmental concerns, children across the Trust are participating in an exciting national art project. Moths to a Flame is a project that aims to send the message that people are using too much energy. Like a moth is attracted to light, so are we.
To begin, the children have started to research moths, which has revealed some fascinating facts. Did you know that some moths are poisonous?
From there, the children will go on to design and create a moth of their own from recycled milk cartons. With their simple yet effective aesthetic, all the plastic moths will be sent to Glasgow to form part of a much larger installation piece situated in Glasgow’s botanical gardens. The flutter of activity has been a great way to begin the summer term and we welcome donations of used milk cartons (cleaned).
